VALPARAISO — Police say a 20-year-old Hobart man drove to Chesterton expecting to meet at 13-year-old girl he chatted sexually with online, but wound up in handcuffs after being set up by an area vigilante group.

Devin Bazzetta, who appeared to remain in custody late Monday morning at the Porter County Jail, is charged with two counts of child solicitation, records show.

A representative of the vigilante group reportedly told Chesterton police that Bazzetta sent a message Sept. 30 on the social media app MeetMe to someone he believed to be Gabby.

He continued with the conversation and even pursued sexual chat and requested nude photographs after being informed Gabby was 13, police said.
