RICHLAND - Battle Creek Central used a big second half to come away with a key win and remain in first place in its division.

Central defeated Gull Lake 44-24 in a Southwestern Michigan Athletic Conference East Division clash. The Bearcats are now 3-0 in the East Division and in first place. BCC will host Kalamazoo Central in Week 7 with both teams tied for first place in the division. The Bearcats are 4-2 overall.

"We are in a great position. Leading our division and destiny is in our own hands," BCC coach Lorin Granger said.

BCC led 16-10 at halftime and then scored 28 points in the second half to roll to the win over Gull Lake (0-6).
