SHEDUER SANDERS is expected to play for the Cleveland Browns this season.

The quarter-back is getting closer to his first start with head coach Kevin Stefanski mixing things up.

Sanders was a fifth-round pick for the Browns - their last in the Draft - but he could have a role to play this season.

Another draft pick, Dillon Gabriel, made his first start in the defeat to the Minnesota Vikings at the weekend.

Veteran Joe Flacco took a place on the bench instead of Sanders.

But that is only because the Browns trust his in-game experience, according NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

And they did not want to throw Sanders in at the deep end in a match that was set up to suit Gabriel.

Rapoport claims Sanders will get a chance at some point this season when he is ready.
