MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- The Department of Veterans Affairs has outlined which services will and will not continue, estimating that 97% of its employees will remain on the job during the government shutdown.
News13 asked the department if the shutdown was impacting the Myrtle Beach VA Outpatient Clinic. A spokesperson referred to a page on the VA's website, breaking down which services were impacted and which were not.
Burials will continue at VA national cemeteries, and applications for headstones, markers, and burial benefits processing will continue. The VA's primary call center (1-800-MyVA411) and the Veterans Crisis Line (Dial 988, press 1) will remain open 24/7, while the VA Benefit Hotline will be available Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m.
