Janganon: Tension prevailed at the Agricultural Market Yard in Jangaon as farmers staged a protest demanding procurement of paddy at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) of Rs 2,369 per quintal for the common variety. Complaining about the lack of remunerative price for their produce, farmers stopped the paddy sales.
The protesting farmers stated that paddy procurement prices had fallen sharply to Rs 1,400 per quintal, pointing out that during the BRS regime, the price stood at around Rs 2,100 per quintal. Th
