CHEBOYGAN — A multi-jurisdictional investigation involving several Northern Michigan law enforcement agencies led to the recovery of seven stolen vehicles and multiple arrests on Oct. 4.

According to an Oct. 6 joint news release from the Cheboygan County Sheriff’s Office, Emmet County Sheriff’s Office, Cheboygan Police Department, and Mackinaw City Police Department, the collaborative operation resulted in arrests on numerous felony charges, including grand theft auto, receiving and concealing stolen property, fleeing and eluding law enforcement, and resisting and obstructing officers.

Officials said the effort highlights the importance of cooperation between local agencies in addressing crimes that cross jurisdictions.
