HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) - An extra layer of security is coming to Warrick County schools.
The Warrick County School Corporation says the district will begin to roll out installation of a weapons detection system at each high school campus.
Officials state the corporation has begun the process of ordering and securing the technology equipment. Prior to implementation, students and staff can expect training and support, including seeing the technology, receiving expectations and practicing school-entry procedures to ensure a smooth transition.
"WCSC will be fully operational as swiftly as possible once delivery from the vendor, installation and training occurs. Families will also receive school-specific details and updates from building administrators in the near future," officials said.
