They didn’t succeed in delivering food and medicine to Gaza. But the more than 40 ships taking part in the Global Sumud Flotilla – crewed by 470 people, including two from Massachusetts – accomplished a lot.
They further exposed the moral bankruptcy of the current Israeli government.
They rallied citizens across Europe.
They dramatized the desperate need for food in Gaza.
And they showed, during their long voyage across the Mediterranean, that principled people from all walks of life are willing to drop what they’re doing
