The National Hurricane Center is watching Invest 95L , a broad area of low pressure in the Atlantic expected to become a tropical depression by midweek.

Invest 95L is forecast to move quickly west-northwestward across the central tropical Atlantic and approach the Leeward Islands by the latter part of this week, per the NHC 's Oct. 6 update.

"It is becoming likely that this will organize into a tropical storm this week," said AccuWeather Senior Meteorologist Dan Pydynowski.

The next named storm of the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season will be called Jerry.
