O’NEILL, Neb. (KSNB) - A three-story home is considered a total loss following a fire Sunday night in O’Neill.
Around 10:30 p.m., O’Neill Fire and Rescue responded to a call for a structure fire on Douglas Street (Hwy20/275) between 6th and 7th Street.
The 911 call said flames were coming from the second story.
O’Neill called for mutual aid from Atkinson and after fighting for an hour, Ewing and Chambers responded as well.
The O’Neill Fire Department said the home was a three-story structure of older construction and a challenge to fight.
Crews were on scene until about 4 a.m. before heading back to quarters.
The Nebraska State Fire Marshal’s Office investigated the fire and found the cause to be electrical in nature.
The structure is a complete loss.
