Keep your eye on the evening sky on Monday night.

The Full Harvest Moon for the month of October will light up the skyline. The moon will also appear brighter and larger on Oct. 6-7 because it's also the first in a series of supermoons of 2025.

A supermoon happens when the moon is closest to Earth and reaches perigee.

When is the best time to see the supermoon?

The best way to view the full harvest supermoon will be as it starts to rise. The Northern California sunset Monday night is at 6:40 p.m. Look along the horizon where the skies will be clear. The full moon hits its peak at 8:47 p.m.
