WATTS – A 44-year-old homeless man walking in a Watts neighborhood was wounded be two men who got out of a vehicle and shot him, authorities said Monday.
The shooting occurred at about 10:15 a.m. Sunday at 99th Place and Laurel Street, near Jordan High School, said a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
The victim ran away from the scene and was taken to a hospital by ambulance, he said. The man had stable vital signs.
The suspects fled after the shooting, the officer said.
Later in the day, three men, also described as homeless, were shot in the Green Meadows area of Los Angeles.
The shooting occurred at 3:09 p.m. Sunday at 88th Street and Central Avenue, according to a desk officer at the Los Angeles Police Department’s Operations Center.
