Phoenix Public Library, which is open to residents of Paradise Valley, will not be impacted by the federal government shutdown, the city’s library services director told a subcommittee last week.

Phoenix Public Library does not receive any of its operational budget from the federal government, Erin MacFarlane told the Community Services and Education Subcommittee during its Thursday meeting.

The library system does receive some federal funding through grants, MacFarlane said, but for the grant the library has now, funds have been dispersed.

“We do not expect to see any impact at all at the library from the federal shutdown,” MacFarlane said.
