An elderly man was reportedly rescued from a flipped car by residents following a crash on Monday.

Footage shared with Glasgow Live shows the grey car lying on its side on Garrioch Road in the west end of the city on October 6.

An eyewitness described the moment that the driver 'hit a parked car' before colliding with a 'cycle storage unit'. Speaking to Glasgow Live, they said: "The driver hit a parked car, which then hit a permanent cycle storage unit, causing the driver's car to flip on its side.

"The elderly driver (male) was then rescued by locals and neighbours of the area who emerged from the flats nearby with ladders to free him before pushing the vehicle back onto its wheels."

Police Scotland said they attended the incident. No injuries were reported.
