A gangland figure who flouted a super-ASBO by going to Tesco has been jailed for 12 months.

John Mack, 38, was caught in a car on his way to Glasgow's Silverburn Shopping Centre with his partner on October 9 2024. Mack had been released from a four-year prison after he helped flood Glasgow with £400,000 of street Valium.

His co-accused was Gary Jamieson - brother of gangster Stephen Jamieson - was also locked up at the time. Mack was also made subject to a five-year serious crime prevention order (SCPO) with a string of conditions.

One was that he had been told to inform police of any journey that he made where he was the passenger in a vehicle. Explaining Mack breaching the order, fiscal Josh Dowie told Glasgow Sheriff Court: "Officers saw a Vauxhall Corsa beside them.
