NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WBTW) -- North Myrtle Beach officials are warning that flooding may be possible this week as king tides are expected to impact the area.
Tidal flooding is possible between Tuesday and Friday, with peak effects likely on Thursday.
Homeowners in flood-prone areas are encouraged to secure outdoor furniture, garbage cans and other loose items to prevent them from being carried away or damaged.
Some side streets may see water over roadways, although widespread flooding isn't anticipated.
Motorists should avoid driving through flooded streets. Even at low speeds, vehicles can create a wake that pushed water into nearby homes and properties. Officials caution everyone not to move cones or other barricades.
