MADISON, Wis. (WMTV) - Throughout the rest of 2025, Dane County is set to award over $25 million to bring six new affordable housing projects to the Madison area, Dane County Executive Melissa Agard announced Monday.
The projects, if fully approved by the County Board, will bring 494 affordable housing units to the area—374 in Madison and 120 split between Fitchburg and Mount Horeb.
The projects are being selected through the Dane County Affordable Housing Development Fund, which was created in 2015 to establish a source of funding to assist in the creation of affordable housing in Dane County. Since its introduction, the City said this fund has committed over $60 million to affordable housing projects, bringing thousands of new units to the county.
