The Blues announced their 23-man roster on Monday afternoon ahead of the NHL's 4 p.m. roster deadline, a roster that did not include forward Milan Lucic, who was in training camp on a professional tryout.

Lucic can still sign a contract with the Blues, or the club can sign him to a 10-day PTO that would allow him to practice with the team but not play in any games. But as of Monday's announcement, Lucic had not signed a contract with the Blues.

The rest of the roster contained no surprises given the moves made in recent days.

Mathieu Joseph and Alexandre Texier secured the final two forward spots on the roster. Matthew Kessel was the seventh defenseman. The Blues open the season on Thursday by hosting the Wild.
