BRYAN, Texas (KBTX) - As the nationwide government shutdown continues, operations of agencies across the country are impacted. In Aggieland, the Salvation Army says long-term results of the shutdown could hurt residents.

Kathleen Sanderson with The Salvation Army of Bryan-College Station told KBTX the government shutdown has impacted its clients more than its facilities. In the long run, that’s where the organization sees the most significant impact.

According to Sanderson, clients are required to provide proof of income to apply for various types of assistance , like food stamps, SNAP, SSI, and rental assistance.
