ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) - Some local farms are now feeling the impact of an ongoing labor strike at a St. Albans dairy processing facility.

At least one farm in Franklin County is dumping milk. The farmers say it’s a result of the strike at the Dairy Farmers of America plant.

Employees hit the picket line a week and a half ago over wages and workplace safety concerns.

Teamsters say they have made progress in the talks, but there are still sticking points over health care benefits and a 12-hour workday.

They say the strike is now beginning to affect parts of the dairy supply chain.

“If they bring it here and it can’t be processed, it’s gotta go somewhere, in those storage containers, or in a parking lot, I believe within seven days
