VERGENNES, Vt. (WCAX) - H2O and CO2-- the two might sound like the ingredients for your next chemistry project. But in Vergennes, they’re part of the packing process for Vermont-based Chug Water. It’s like bottled water, but better.
“Thanks to the beer industry, the can is the most recycled beverage canister,” said Linnae O’Neil, co-founder of Chug Water .
The idea to can local spring water dripped into her brain while she was working at a coffee shop in Stowe.
“A lot of tourism would come in and they wanted to buy coffee and they wanted a water to go,” O’Neil explained. “I couldn’t find a local water option on the market.”
So, she and her brother, Cullen, started brewing up some ideas.
