LOUISVILLE, Ohio — The Louisville City School District confirms it placed all of its buildings on lockdown Monday due to a perceived threat that is now being described as a hoax.
According to a letter from Superintendent Michele Shaffer sent to district families, Louisville High School's main office line received a phone call just before 9:30 a.m. from someone "claiming to have harmed family members and stating that he was on his way to the high school with a weapon." As the call "appeared credible," staff immediately placed the school on lockdown and called police, who arrived at the scene within minutes. As a precaution, all other schools and buildings in the district ended up being placed on lockdown as well.
