CHARDON, Ohio — Firefighters from several departments responded Saturday afternoon to a blaze at Chardon Tavern, quickly bringing the fire under control and ensuring no one was injured, officials said.

Chardon Fire Department crews were dispatched at 12:08 p.m. Saturday for a fire at the popular bar, located at 405 Water St., according to a press release.

When they arrived, they found flames at the back of the building. Firefighters confirmed that all occupants were safely out of the building before they began to extinguish the flames.

The cause of the fire is under investigation by the Geauga County Fire Investigation Unit.
