ATLANTA — Rapper Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, is scheduled to return to Atlanta for a benefit concert on Dec. 16.

The announcement of the benefit concert comes a week after his free surprise concert pop-up on the steps of the Fulton County Courthouse on Sept. 28. In the midst of his performance, he delivered a moving message to fans about how his experience on trial for racketeering and gang charges at the Fulton County Courthouse changed his life.

Williams was released from the Fulton County Jail on Oct. 31.

"Man, I wanted to take the time to come to Atlanta, the place I'm from, and I wanted to perform for y'all for free, man. And I wanted to do it at this place because this place changed my life for the better, man," Williams said.
