EAST LANSING – The last time Michigan State played at home, it closed out a win against Youngstown State to complete the nonconference slate unbeaten.

One month later, the return to Spartan Stadium features a team now 0-2 in Big Ten play.

The Spartans (3-2) are coming off a 38-27 loss at Nebraska last week and host UCLA (1-4, 1-1) on Saturday (Noon, BTN).

Immediately after the defeat in Lincoln, Smith said he didn’t believe there were “glaring” issues with how his offensive tackles played. After rewatching the game, Smith changed his tune about how the group protected quarterback Aidan Chiles, who was under constant pressure and sacked four times.
