80-year-old woman killed in WBR crash

PORT ALLEN, La. (WAFB) - On October 6, 2025, at approximately 9:10 a.m., Troopers with Louisiana State Police Troop A began investigating a two-vehicle serious injury crash on US Hwy 190 at LA Hwy 983 in West Baton Rouge Parish. The crash claimed the life of 80-year-old Janet Tchorlian of Port Allen.

The preliminary investigation revealed that a 2018 Chevrolet Trax, driven by Tchorlian, was traveling southbound on LA Hwy 983 toward US Hwy 190. Simultaneously, a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado was traveling westbound on US Hwy 190, approaching LA Hwy 983. For reasons still under investigation, Tchorlian failed to yield at a stop sign and entered the intersection, traveling directly into the path of the Silverado, which struck the Trax on th
