LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WAVE) -The case was bizarre from the beginning. In late October of last year, Indiana State Police are called to Slate Run Road in New Albany.
41-year-old Christopher Proctor had been shot and killed. Detectives at first believed he had come to a man’s home armed with a sword.
According to an affidavit, that’s what the alleged shooter, 68-year-old Kevin Campbell, told detectives. But he waited two hours to call police and tried to hide the body. An affidavit says he wasn’t physically able to and that’s when he called police. Campbell is charged with obstruction of justice.
Then, ISP says they later learned there was no sword , and Proctor was unarmed when he was shot and killed at Campbell’s door.
