BOSTON — Red Sox chief baseball officer Craig Breslow’s 2025 season certainly was nothing short of eventful.

It began with star Rafael Devers repeatedly stating during a Feb. 17 spring training media availability that was unwilling to move to DH .

It continued May 8 when Devers expressed displeasure about the Red Sox asking him to move to first base following Triston Casas’ season-ending injury. Devers refused to switch positions and referred to Breslow as “the GM” instead of by his actual name .

Breslow ended up trading Devers in a blockbuster deal with the Giants on June 15 .

The season included several other major events, including catastrophic injuries, extensions and a subpar trade deadline.
