Thieves who stole $85,000 worth of booze from LCBO stores now face charges, according to Halton Regional Police.

Police say officers launched an joint investigation in August into an organized group that was allegedly targeting the province’s liquor stores and other retailers across the GTA.

Over the course of the investigation, police and LCBO investigators alleged, the thieves stole $85,000 worth of liquor during 54 separate incidents, dating to May.

The group also allegedly stole merchandise from other retailers, as well, including Home Depot, Dollarama, Value Village, and Metro stores.

On Wednesday, four suspects were arrested in Oakville and officers searching their vehicle alleged they found 31 grams of cocaine, 17 grams of MDMA, and 183 capsules of hydromorphone.
