One of Queensland’s biggest stadiums is set to receive a huge upgrade after Premier David Crisafulli confirmed the Sunshine State would shine in time for the 2032 Olympic Games.
Premier David Crisafulli revealed Suncorp Stadium’s 52,500-seat venue would be increased to support the Brisbane Olympics, as well as an expected boom in support for the Brisbane Broncos.
Following the Broncos’ mighty 26-22 win against the Melbourne Storm on Sunday night, captain Adam Reynolds pleaded for their spiritual ground to receive a facelift.
Mr Crisafulli said Suncorp would receive an upgrade rather than a new rectangular stadium.
“This was built for the 2003 World Cup in this phase and the truth is, it really hasn’t had a great deal of love for over 20 years,” the Premier said.
