STATESVILLE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Statesville city leaders have advanced the rezoning request for a controversial data center.

The proposed 350-acre site is located near I-40 and Stamey Farm Road. The developers are looking to rezone the property from farmland to industrial.

Statesville residents have voiced their concerns over the proposal, arguing it will bring high traffic and pollution to the area.
