Oregon governor calls Trump’s actions ‘an abuse of power and threat to our democracy’

President Trump’s plan to deploy National Guard troops to U.S. cities is setting up a new showdown in federal courts over the limits of his authority. Illinois sued the administration to stop plans to send in 400 troops from Texas. It comes after a separate judge blocked Trump from sending California’s National Guard to Oregon.
