Strasburg residents may soon see smoother trash collection days.

The town has officially transitioned its waste pickup operations from Waste Management’s Martinsburg hub to the company’s Harrisonburg division. It's a move officials hope will resolve the service lapses that frustrated residents earlier this summer.

Town Manager Waverly Coggsdale said the switch took effect Sept. 29 following an internal discussion with Waste Management, which the town supported in hopes of improving reliability.
