(KRON) -- Max's Restaurant in Daly City has been serving the local community for years. The Filipino restaurant reportedly shuttered permanently this past spring, and there has now been a replacement for the space on 309 Gellert Blvd.

A boba tea shop is now occupying that space at Gellert Marketplace shopping center. Chicha San Chen held its soft opening over the weekend on Oct. 4, the business announced on social media.

Chicha San Chen is open from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. The soft opening period is from Oct. 4 to Oct. 10. On the first day, lines were out the door as customers waited for Chicha San Chen, an Instagram post shows.
