(KRON) -- Two teenagers caught the eye of a police officer who was patrolling downtown Novato. The officer saw teens riding electric-motorcycles recklessly and ignoring stop signs on Saturday night, police said.

"The officer initiated a traffic stop, and the two riders fled from the officer," the Novato Police Department wrote.

The teenagers tried to get away by running down a path between Ford Way and Donna Street. During a foot pursuit, officers caught up with one of the teens, identified by NPD as 18-year-old San Rafael resident Zane Bicknell.

"The other suspect, a 17-year-old Novato resident, was located hiding near Yukon Way. Both suspects were arrested for evading and resisting arrest," NPD wrote.
