PELL CITY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - The Pell City Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that took place Saturday night, Oct. 4.

Police say they responded to reports around 11:25 p.m. in the 800 block of 16th Street.

According to Pell City Police Chief Clay Morris, the initial investigation suggests that someone tried to rob a group of people who were playing cards. Shots were fired.

Police say that one person is dead after the shooting and one person has non life-threatening injuries.

Morris confirmed that there is no one in custody at this time.
