BIRMINGHAM, Ala. ( WBRC ) - A judge has denied youthful offender status for 22-year-old LaMarion Charlie, the man accused of killing four men in a 2024 quadruple homicide.
The families of the victims shared emotional messages after the hearing, calling for an end to gun violence.
“I just want the violence to end,” said Mary Holmes, the mother of Kevin McGhee.
“Put the guns down. They are not necessarily live to fight another day. Give our youth a chance. Please give our youth a chance. Wrap your arms around them. Help them. Encourage them. Teach them something else,” Holmes said.
Holmes’ son, her nephew, and two of their lifelong friends were gunned down at a neighborhood car wash in February 2024. The car wash was at the family home of Talton “TJ” Tait.
For his mother, Jimone Griff
