LAKE COUNTY, MI – The driver and passenger of a motorcycle died in a crash with an SUV on Sunday evening, Oct. 5.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Office did not release the names of the victims, only identifying them as a 53-year-old man and 54-year-old woman, both from Evart.

Authorities responded to the crash at 6:40 p.m. on U.S. 10 near Forman Road in Yates Township, the sheriff’s office said in a news release .

Deputies said the motorcycle was traveling east on U.S. 10 when a westbound SUV turned into the path of the motorcycle, causing a collision.

Deputies arrived on the scene to find a witness administering CPR on the male motorcycle operator, so a deputy began administering CPR on the female passenger of the motorcycle. However, both the driver and passenger were pronounced dead at
