MUSKEGON, MI – A vehicle was riddled with bullet holes, shell casings were littered across the crime scene, and a man was found dead in a vehicle.
That was the portrait a Muskegon County prosecutor painted to jurors surrounding the death of 24-year-old Jamarr Burse nearly three years ago.
The alleged shooter, Amir Sincere Petty , is on trial this week in Muskegon County Circuit Court on charges related to Burse’s death.
Petty, 26, faces open murder, carrying a concealed weapon and felon in possession of a firearm.
The case started the afternoon of Dec. 29, 2022, when Burse was found shot to death inside a vehicle. He was discovered by police at the intersection of Continental Street and East Columbia Avenue in Norton Shores.
