WINTHROP – Five first-half goals helped lift Masconomet to a 6-0 girls soccer victory over Northeastern Conference foe Winthrop.

The Chieftains (10-2) earned a fifth consecutive victory, and they have not allowed a goal during this stretch. Head coach Alison Lecesse said her team has developed a strong passing game over this period, and the ability to mix in a larger roster of players is something that will help them going forward.

“We had some really great passing, moving the ball really well, and we got a lot of subs in, which is great,” Lecesse said. “We got some combinations that we wanted to see.”

Masonomet’s offensive charge started just one minute in, as Maggie Blosser scored the first goal off a rebound. Just a few minutes later, they followed up with another goal from Ella Camm
