A pedestrian was hit and killed by a Boston University shuttle bus early Monday morning.

According to the BPD, just before 8 a.m. officers were dispatched to 774 Albany Street.

“Upon arrival, officers were advised that a bus had struck a pedestrian, who became trapped beneath the vehicle,” a BPD spokesman said.

A university spokesperson said that “sadly, at around 8 this morning, a shuttle bus hit a pedestrian at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Albany Street. The accident is under investigation by Boston Police.”

Three hours later the BPD reported that the pedestrian, who they did not name, had succumbed to their wounds.
