CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (CBS19 NEWS) -- The Charlottesville Fire Department is officially responding to a call out of their brand-new Station No. 1, located on the 250 bypass.

First responders and city leaders gathered Monday morning for a ceremony to mark the grand opening of the state-of-the-art station. The new building sits right across from the original Station No. 1 that first opened in 1961. City Manager Sam Sanders said it was time for an upgrade to a station that sits in a very important spot in the city.
