The Komets packed a lot into their first 24 hours of training camp.
A team meeting was held on Sunday night, followed by physicals the next morning, and then a media luncheon at Memorial Coliseum before their first practice as a team at the PSM Icehouse.
One day down, 11 days to go until the Komets open their 74th season of hockey in Fort Wayne — and 14th in the ECHL — against the Indy Fuel.
“It was a long day for the guys,” coach Jesse Kallechy said after the team’s initial practice. “Long day for them, but I’m happy. Thought they worked hard, and the pace was good. We’re working off some summer habits, but overall, really happy with the first day.”
