COVENTRY, R.I. (WPRI) — The brand new Coventry breakfast spot will be opening up this weekend — just not in the restaurant that it originally intended to.

In a social media post Monday evening, Ham and Egger announced that it will celebrate its soft opening at Boomerangs Roadhouse this weekend.

Ham and Egger's owners explained that a minor setback has prevented them from opening their Washington Street restaurant, which the two have been renovating from the ground up.

"Unfortunately, despite our septic system passing initial inspection — it is not suitable for restaurant use," the owners wrote.

Though the owners plan to eventually hook the restaurant up to the public sewer system, it will require engineering, digging, permits and approval from the Coventry Town Council.
