REHOBOTH, Mass. (WPRI) — A 53-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after he was hit by a car in Rehoboth Monday evening.

Officers were called to Winthrop Street just before 7 p.m. following reports of a pedestrian who was hit by a car.

Police said the man, who was crossing the road at the time, suffered injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with the investigation. It's unclear if any charges will be filed.

The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation.
