Just before she disappeared while taking a walk in Quebec City on February 17, 2008, Marilyn Bergeron told her parents that something horrible had happened to her and she felt unsafe — but she refused to elaborate.

On Feb. 17, 2008, Marilyn Bergeron told her parents she was going out for a walk. Almost two decades later, she still hasn’t returned.

Bergeron, who was 24 at the time of her disappearance, had recently moved back into her parents’ home in Quebec City, Canada, after telling them that she no longer felt safe living alone. She would not elaborate further.
