ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Ala. ( WBRC ) - Officials with the Alabama Department of Transportation have completed maintenance work on an Interstate 20 westbound bridge .
ALDOT said after the five days of maintenance, all lanes of the I-20 westbound bridge over the Coosa River in Riverside are again open to traffic.
Work began Thursday, Oct. 2, when ALDOT crews closed lanes on the span to make maintenance repairs on the 62-year-old bridge.
Even though there were some delays impacting traffic while the repairs were made , crews worked quickly and finished the repair two days ahead of schedule.
Both directions of the US-78 bridge across the Coosa River have also been reopened to traffic.
