A potentially deadly encounter at a local hotel ended without injuries Sunday night, authorities said.

Around 9:24 p.m. on October 5, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to reports of gunfire at the Green Tree Inn, located at 14173 Green Tree Boulevard, according to the department.

When deputies arrived, they saw five individuals fleeing the parking lot near the hotel. Preliminary investigation indicated that a white sedan had approached the group. An unknown suspect, wearing a ski mask, exited the vehicle and fired multiple shots before fleeing the scene.
