COLUMBIA, S.C. — A big temperature drop coming to the Midlands midweek and a Weather Impact Alert has been issued, starting on the first day of South Carolina State Fair.
The major shift in the weather will be across the Midlands after Wednesday. The News19 Weather Impact Alert is ahead of an unseasonably warm Monday, forecasted to continue Wednesday, followed by a big drop in temperatures by Thursday morning.
Wednesday will start mild, with morning lows close to average for this time of year. But by the afternoon, temperatures will rise dramatically, reaching the low to mid-80s — a warm spike not typical for early October.
However, changes will begin late Wednesday. Showers and possibly a few storms are expected to move through the area from Wednesday afternoon into the early morning
