SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4 Sports) - It may be hard to believe, but since joining the Big 12 Conference in 2024, the Utes football team has not won a conference game at home.

When Kyle Whittingham heard that stat, he couldn't believe it either.

"[0-5] at Rice-Eccles? That sucks," Whittingham said to laughter in the press conference. "I wasn't aware of that. I probably should have been, but, OK. You lose and you're upset and you're mad. I guess you can delve into it further, but if that's the trend, we hope to break it this week."

Utah did beat Baylor last season, but that did not count as a conference game since it was scheduled before Utah joined the league.

The Utes enjoyed their first bye week of the season to rest up, get healthy and get ready for the 21st-ranked Arizona State Sun Devils
